Every year Premier Guitar magazine offers up their "Mystery Stocking"; for ~$39 you get a box. One has a guitar, a number have stompboxes, and all have at least $39 worth of stuff.
Every year I buy it, every I don't get a guitar or a stompbox.
This year's had a strap (going on the my son, as all of mine have straps, and he has 3 guitars & 2 straps), a couple sets of strings (one of them also going on to him, as I dislike coated strings), a selection of flatpicks (I fingerpick naked at least 99% of the time), some fret polish, a can of "STRINGTone", etc. - but this year, the usual collection of stickers included an Alembic 50th Anniversary sticker! So I got that going for me.
Peter (who must confess he also enters just about every guitar or amp give-away he comes across)

From another who LOVES stickers, (especially the Alembic ones!) I think you should give coated strings another chance Coz... I'll lend my endorsement to the D'Addario EXP's. I use them on mandolin and guitar. ;)
*the only exception being my vintage Martin axes... they get Thomastik-Infeld "Plectrum" sets, for the lower tension, but larger, 'normal-feeling' gauges.

I wondered if any Alembic Club members would get one of these Mystery Stockings! They make 1,800 of them, and I decided to play this year :)

I prefer to check these two 'stupid deals of the day' every day, so that I would know what they are selling! I guess I am not much of a gambler!
