This past weekend, I decided to drag out my McIntosh MC2105. Usually I use a Crest Powerlite 3.0, which I think is somewhere around 500wpc into 8 ohms. The Mac is 105 (conservatively rated). The speakers vary, but often a JBL K120 in a Bag End cab and I end up hitting the clip light every now and then. With the Mac, it reaches full rated power when the meters indicate +3db. With the neck pickup going through one channel into the K140 and the bridge going through another into a K120, I rarely got above 0db which is supposedly about 50 watts per channel and it was loud and clear. And effortless. I'm going to have to build a road case and do this more often, the 65lbs notwithstanding.

That is such a great picture on so many levels! It looks like you're taking the picture yourself in the mirror, and yet you're behind the amp stack - how'd you do that? ;D

Going from Crest & fEARful to Mac & Bag End?
You, my friend, need to hire a roadie!

The Bag End is actually really light. It's one of the second generation cabs made of pretty thin plywood. Probably about the same as the fEARful, which I haven't used in years. The Mike Arnopol Soundworks 210 Flex blows it away.
Well, maybe you can come out and supervise! :-)
