Title: 8.6 Pound 5-string Alembic Custom

I was so sad this week. I had to let go of this amazing Series II long scale 5-string bass that weighed only 8.6 pounds!
Will Gunn helped put this amazing custom bass order together. I put some pics on Instagram and Facebook, but we need to talk about it here too.

Look at all the Mahogany and Walnut with Maple veneers setting it all off just right. That super-deep carved "negative" heel? SWOOOOON!
I hope Paul noticed that I lead the post with the BACK of the bass :)

So cool that you got Series  II electronics in an Essence.

Those woods are incredibly complimentary to each other as well.

Yes! In fact, it's the only way to get this to work is to use a side 5-pin and a face 1/4" as they each take up the least amount of space.

 That is my favorite Alembic bass to date! Wow! Beautiful build Mica. Essence body is my favorite. Your shop ups it's game on every new custom build.  8)

Beautiful bass!  Looks like the Phil heel carve... is the neck profile wafer thin as well?  I’ll bet the tone is warm, smooth, and focused  :)

Man. If I could get a five string long scale Alembic bass that weighed less than 9 lbs I would seriously consider taking out a second mortgage to get it.

That is special!   So, pretty much Series II layout in a customized Essence body?  Nice!
