I’m putting together an “Alligator” guitar and have an electronics question. The original Alligator sported the original Alembic Stratoblaster circuit. I was wondering if I should stick with a Blaster or consider a buffer/preamp, like the Waldo TCP-2. I know just enough about this stuff to get myself in trouble, so any advice/explanations/opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Save yourself the trouble; go to the auction on that other thread & score the real thing!

Mine’s going to be better! I’m making an improvement in that I intend to mount the battery and blaster/ preamp in the unused rear tremolo cavity. Changing the battery or adjusting the Blaster/Pre will be easier than removing the input jack for access. I don’t know why something similar wasn’t done on the original. Seems kind of obvious to me.

Well, I'd say they didn't think of that because they were high, but....... 8)
