Post by: eruby on October 21, 2019, 11:17:50 AM
I purchased this bass in 1997. I have the build sheet. Interesting item, it has an adjustable bone or plastic nut.Any information on this bass would be greatly appreciated.

I will look it up for you - but if you have the build sheet, that's probably the same details that I have in the file from that time.

I was hoping you might know like was it a custom order or just a spec built. Also mayby if the bone/plastic nut was standard or after market. This was the 1st Alembic I ever held in my hand so I didn't even know that others had brass nuts. It is adjustable like the brass adjustable nuts. Don't go out of your way, I know you are busy. Guess I was looking for anything not in the build sheet.

Hi Eric,

The build record looks totally normal for the time. I'm sure if we put on a bone or plastic nut we would have noted it, as it's sooooooo unusual. The bass was registered the day it was completed, so it's likely it was was custom order. It was originally built for Be Bop Music in Louisiana.

I also have a note in the file from 1997 when you bought the bass :)
