Title: Ginger Baker has passed
Post by: David Houck on October 06, 2019, 04:38:38 AM: Though we tend to focus more on guitar and bass players, Ginger Baker stands out for me because of Cream and the impact that their collaboration had on my life and on so much of the music that was to follow. And for that I am grateful.

Post by: jazzyvee on October 06, 2019, 10:51:04 PM: He was one of those drummers that I had heard and not known who he was until I saw him on a documentary in the UK, most likely on the BBC where he was talking about the influence of African drumming on his playing. I later enjoyed his playing on the Blind Faith Album and the track Do what you like is the first drum solo I can recall ever hearing and taking note of. We used to play that track in the first band I played in back in the late 70's.
