Had to my 1992 Stanley Clarke Signature Deluxe since about 2002 (bought used). I love it of course! Would like to get any build details, especially on the woods used. Thanks much... -Bob

Here is a pic of my precious...

Bob,
I only know it’s not Zebrawood. :o ;)
Sit tight, one of the members will know the wood and when Mica has the time she will post all of the build info.
-
My bet is Cocobolo for the top but it is too dark to tell for certain from that photo alone.
-
Thanks much for the feedback. Here are a few more pics...

Looks more like Walnut.
-
I will pull the file later today - but this bass is Indian Rosewood top and back.
-
Mica, thanks much for your help. I never would have guessed rosewood! Is that very common to be used on front/back? .-Bob
-
At that time it was almost 100% of the Stanley Clarke builds.
-
Can you recheck this number? When we pulled the file, it was for an Epic bass.
-
My apologies Mica. Upon much closer inspection, the s/n is: 92 SC7366.
(I miss read the 3 as an 8). -Bob

Hi Bob,
Here's the details from the instrument file:
top: Indian Rosewood
back: Indian Rosewood
body: Mahogany
accent: Maple
neck: 5-piece Maple and Purpleheart
scale: 30.75" short
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: Pearloid (plastic) ovals
pickups: Alembic AXY
controls: "Signature" volume, pan, filter x2, Q-switch x2, mono output
originally made for: Washington Music, MD
birthday: August 27, 1992
It's possible the original owner replaced the tuners, but the note just says he might, so I'm not sure if he ever did.
