Title: RIP Larry "The Mole" Taylor.....Canned Heat
Post by: garyhead on August 20, 2019, 08:52:08 PM
Samuel Lawrence Taylor (June 26, 1942 – August 19, 2019) was an American Bass Guitarist, best known for his work as a member of Canned Heat from 1967. Before joining Canned Heat he had been a session bassist for The Monkees and Jerry Lee Lewis.  He was the younger brother of long-time drummer Mel Taylor for The Ventures.

Ironic he passes one day after the 50th commoration of Woodstock.  I first saw him in the Canned Heat performance of the Woodstock movie. Go to Wikipedia.....a prolific career.

Can anyone here enlighten us as to the origin of the nickname  "The Mole?" ???

Thanks for posting this.  His album credits are indeed long.  His name will be familiar to a lot of us older folks for his work with John Mayall, especially on USA Union with Harvey Mandel.
