Does anybody have a lead on chrome Gotoh Distillate tuners? Something is rattling around in two of mine, and I'd like to be ready for when they need to be replaced. Pic attached for reference.

Pretty sure you can order replacements from Alembic.
What type of rattling are you hearing and under what conditions?
Is this Distillate new to you?
-
Does it rattle when it's tuned up or only when there are no strings on? These appear to be the standard Gotoh GB7 tuners
-
This bass is new to me, and it only makes a little rattling noise when I tap the tuning peg or move around a lot. It will rattle with strings on and off.
-
I recently bought 5 off eBay for around $14 each brand new. They of course do not have the Alembic "A" on them, but it looks like yours don't anyway.

Tuner rattle is surprising because there aren't that many moving parts. Here are a couple things to try: take off the string, tighten the main mounting nut (15mm?), make sure the small "locking" screw in the back is snug, and then slightly tighten the screw in the center of the tuning key. If it's like my Schallers there is sometimes unnecessary play there. That screw is not meant to be overly tight but if it's very loose it could conceivably rattle.

Jimmy,
Will do. Will report back tomorrow.

Everything checks out so far. No tightening helped
