Title: CBS News produces audio documentary on Grateful Dead sound innovations
Post by: David Houck on May 23, 2019, 06:53:55 AM
There's a text overview here: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/dead-sound-an-audio-doc-grateful-dead-concerts/ (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/dead-sound-an-audio-doc-grateful-dead-concerts/)

And there you'll find a link to the thirty minute documentary on Soundcloud.  The text overview suggests that they've done their homework, interviewing Jackson, McNally, Healy, Meyer.  I plan to download for listening later in the car; however, part of the documentary apparently includes comparisons of Chinacat from 1968, 1972, and 1974 to show the evolution of the sound quality of the PA system, so it might be interesting to listen to over a nicer system than my car.   ;)

Edit: can't download the file, so I won't be listening in my car.

Thanks, Dave; now I know what I'll be doing later today when the rain chases me from yardwork!
