As soon as the story started, I knew it was going to be a Buchla!

I spent many happy hours in the basement of Ives Hall at Sonoma State doing weird and wonderful things with a Buchla, much to the detriment of my actual academic work. I wonder how many of them found their way into the CSU system?

They told us never to take acid, because we'd get flashbacks.

It's been almost 50 years now, and nary a one; we were promised flashbacks, dammit - we wuz robbed!!!

Ok so years ago someone on this forum posted a video of a little electronic thingy making music on it's own.  This took me down a serious rabbit hole and I entered the world of Analog Synthesis.   In research I found this great little video of a presentation given by the owner of an analog synth company about the precursors to the Buchla 100 and analog synthesis in general.  If you ignore the first part about the inventor of the transistor (interesting but twisted) you'll get to the Buchla part, and the Kesey part!  I was pretty amazed at the connection.

I never though it would be relevant here, but you should watch it.  It makes me wonder if there is a connection between Buchla and Alembic filters on Bass and Guitar for some reason.

Roger, that was rather interesting, thanks for the find.
Now I know why I should give a Schmitt!   :o
