William "Fairplay" Kruetzmann, Jr. is 73 years old today; let's all beat on something in celebration!
On a side note: At one of the shows I attended in 1980, Bobby filled in a tuning break by informing us that Bill was running as a write-in candidate for President; "A vote for Kruetzmann is a vote for dancing in the street".
Faced with the choice of Michael Dukakis or Ronnie Raygun, I did, indeed, write him in; of all the votes I've cast, that's probably the one I feel best about.......

I recently read 'Deal' - his autobiography. He puts a much different slant on having 2 drummers than anyone else I've read.
