hi,
I have some info on this bass - which I bought and registered here in June 2018.
but, I'd like some info, if possible, on the name written on the back of the baseplate.
written in fibre pen is: "Wes Ferguson"
was he builder/checker at Alembic in 1987?
cheers,

Could be a bass player? But a quick Google search doesn’t show anything.
I had Stanley Clarke and Victor Wooten autograph the inside of my Distillate’s brass cover. Then a few years later I had Mike Watt autograph it also... he had so much sweat coming off his forearms he wiped half of Stan’s signature off!!! :o

I couldn't find the file for your bass. Generally there are no builder's signatures on the inside of backplates - it would get mighty crowded since just about everyone here is involved with every build. I would reckon that the name was of a previous owner or of someone that a previous owner admired and as Paul suggested, had them autograph it.
This has been added to my roster of misfiled/missing files. When it turns up, I will post details here. Meanwhile, you're welcome to post pictures and I will make some educated guesses on the materials.

I thought this one was familiar. She's an 'almost twin' to my Persuader 5-string, and I knew I'd met her before. ;) Here's an older lookup thread with the info found:

Thank you Gregory! I usually do a club search when I can't find a file just in case, but I obviously blew it this time.
