Hey there, I remember earlier you mentioned something about fake alembics and that you were trying to find out who where making these. Like earlier in the earlier mentioned thread, here is the link, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2543059003&category=4713 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2543059003&category=4713)

WOW It's not even a good fake lol
-
it should be a crim if someone pays 1200.00 for that bass.
-
Holy cow that is a lousy attempt at passing off a fake. If you read Mica's post on how to spot a fake, this bass makes every mistake that she tells us to look for.
I sent a message to the person selling it, telling them it is a fake. I would like to think it's an honest mistake on their part.........
-
Also, this seller has sold quite a few guitars and basses recently(Fender and Gibson) which makes it tough to think they don't know what they are selling, especially at $1199 for buy it now!
-
Elzie, I tend to want to go with your first impression, that the seller doesn't know what he's selling; that someone brought the thing into his shop with the stickers on it and he looked up Alembic Elan in his book for the price. After all, we've all met tons of people who know what fenders and gibsons are but have never heard of alembic. On the other hand, if the listing is still unchanged tomorrow ...

Wow. . what a piece of. . .
Jeff
p.s. That's cool you alerted the Seller elzie. .

I called and left a message for the seller, Mason Road Pawn in Katy, TX. I know this is the same guy that's been making the fakes for a while, it has all the tell-tale signs (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=395).
