Better warn them about that driveway, Dave. ;D

Interesting article, David. I hope it doesn't change the nice atmosphere there, though. Sometimes things change when word gets out how good the scene is.

I'm always amazed when the folks from either coast discover . . . . there's life out there in those 'flyover' lands, and then develop a creeping dread that maybe they'll hang out here a lot, or worse, move here. This is how Nashville became an 'It' city, and I'm not talking information technology . . . . .
Y'all come back now. Just wait a while, after the NFL Draft, OK ? ?

Interesting article. Many years ago I was down there (from Minnesota just about all other geographic locations are "down" there) for a workshop I was running and was looking for a place to get some food and a beer. Found a little place the name of which I cannot remember and they had a folk singer I had never heard of, by the name of David Wilcox playing there. I was so impressed by his music that I think I have a copy of just about everything he has recorded. From what I understand he still lives in Ashville.

I know David Wilcox. We've never played together, in fact I've never seen him play, but we are in the same group of friends and see each other from time to time.

My Cousin Graham's son, Andy Ferrell lives in Asheville and claims it is a pretty good scene for musicians there... hopefully the article will be helpful to them.

Asheville has a pretty good scene for music and beer. Rene and I are still looking at the area a possible one to retire to in a couple of years.
Edit: Forgot the art scene as well. One of our favorite things to do is walk between all of the artist galleries.
