Title: [RETRACTED] FOR SALE: 92' Europa 5
Post by: darnellbass on March 28, 2019, 02:45:33 PM
A recent purchase I made, but I have to say 5 strings are just not for me. Here it is Europa:

1992 Europa 5 string, right handed
7 piece laminate maple/purpleheart/maple neck

Mahogany body with an awesome Redwood burl top

Europa electronics, Vol, Pan, LPF with two position Q toggle, Bass and Treble boost/cut toggles
* Note: The tone wooden knob does not fit tightly on the pot shaft

Cosmetically, maybe 7 out of 10.

Brass needs polishing, checking in the finish on the back, where the belly sweat hit the bass, and a minor ding in the headstock.
Weight is 10 - 10.5 lbs. I have the original case, but the latches have been replaced.

$3000 OBO shipped conus
Trades possibly for Fodera

Aaron

Very nice bass and a VERY reasonable price. Someone should jump at this one. If I didn't already have a Europa 6-string, Aaron and I would already be discussing preferred shipping. Heck, I seen old Spoliers and Distillates going for this price and as far as I'm concerned a Europa is a very significant upgrade.

I have a 1992 Europa 4 and I LOVE it. The new owner will love it. I'm sure the new owner is already familiar with this bass.
The Europa is by far my favorite model. It plays (mine does) like butter.

Can't quite read the picture - is the serial number 92U9530?
Is it a 34" or 35" scale?
Classic or comfort taper?

The edge-to-edge distance between the strings should be an equal 15 mm then. :)

Posted on 3/28 and sold twice by 4/7. Just goes to show that if you price Alembics correctly they go quickly.  Congratulations. I hope you are going to get to spend th is on another Alembic.

I'm keeping this bass (long story). It's amazing and regret ever even selling it.  I actually feel embarrassed posting it at that price! Anyway, it's in my possession for evaaa!
