I've been a guitarist my entire life, and I'm pushing 60 years old.  I just picked this up on eBay, strung piccolo (it's a 28" scale).  I slapped a set of 45-100s on, and I'm in heaven!

Congratulations on a cool little Custom... a few of us were watching that one wondering where it would end up.  :)

Cool bass, congrats and welcome to the low end, I think you’re gonna like it down here!  :)

Thanks, guys.

Lesh at 79 continues to inspire.

I actually saw him play with his teeth once.  March 20, 1981, at the Rainbow Theatre in London, shortly into the space after drums, Phil went silent for a few seconds, then lifted the bass to his mouth and bit a string, immediately thereafter dampening it with his left hand.  The single note blew everybody out of the back door!  I wouldn’t have believed it if I didn’t see it.  I was standing about 20 feet away from him and saw it plain as day.  Check it out: https://archive.org/details/gd1981-03-20.sbd.gems.104928.flac16/gd1981.03.20.GEMS.track.24.flac

The string bite is at the 2:38 mark...

That bass really does have some nice features.
Welcome to the deep end David... keep it low and stay out of treble!  :-D
