1997 Series I Walnut 35" Scale- serial 9710814
Got it from: The Low End Bass Shop
Really enjoying my first Series 1; the Walnut gives an amazing, classy tone. It's very clear and has a nice 'acoustic-like' quality I wasn't expecting. Experimenting with different brands of strings...

Aaron that looks delicious.
A number of people find flat wounds a really nice fit with an Alembic.

Looking forward to the Showcase Thread on this one! Congratulations & Compliments!
*it reminds me a lot of this one, from a few years earlier... http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=23055.msg231306#msg231306

Series 1 'art'. Made a sound clip in stereo, with reverb on only the bridge/treble pickup. Alembic E, A and Black diamond flats D, G. https://soundcloud.com/user-598105611/alembic-series-i

Beautiful!

The Rotosound 66 steel are magnificent on this bass!
-
Even better, Ken Smith compressors or slick rounds.

Hi Aaron,
Here's what I found in the instrument file and research for your bass:
top: Flame Walnut
accent: Maple laminate
body: Mahogany
back: Flame Walnut
neck: 7-piece Maple and Purpleheart
scale: 35" extra long
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: mother of pearl ovals
side markers: red LEDs
pickups: Alembic SC-1 and HX
controls: Series I - volume x2, filter x2, Q-switch x2, pickup selector switch, 1/4" mono output, 5-pin stereo output
hardware: gold plated solid brass
originally made for: Guitar Center, Dallas, TX
birthday: July 2, 1997
The original owner was in Louisiana. In 2008 there was another club member interested in buying this bass, but I don't have a record that they did.
Such a lovely bass!
