There's a Series I on Ebay right now with a description that's an interesting mix of what's true and what's not true.

Talk about poetic license! I wonder what Mica and Susan will have to say about that?
-
You know what I think would be funny. Is if this poor guy were to receive an email from every single one of us here on the board correcting him of his mis-information. Maybe after 700 some-odd emails, he might get his facts straight.
-
Dig the alnico frets! Terrible shame about that old Alembic company--what ever happened to them? (Ha!) Looks like this guy took a wrong turn on the Information Superhighway!
-
He has also apparently listed it twice; same pictures, somewhat different text.

Brother Dino, you read my mind, which is probably not difficult;)

That will be interesting if he gets bids on both of those!

I was unable to find any recording credits for a Brett Richardson; which leads me to wonder if that part of the description was hyped also.
-
If I am not mistaken, he was a Muscle Shoals session man.
Pretty bass though.
-
I did a search for Brett Richardson on the Internet (and I'm VERY good at using the various search engines) and the only reference that I could find to a Brett Richardson was assistant engineer on the Winans gospel records. Also, I thought David Hood (yet another Alembic player) was the major bass player of the Muscle Shoals group.
BTW, the two auctions are closed now.

Yes! You are right. I was thinking David Hood. Sorry.
Strange that the auctions are closed now.
-
I agree, it is a nice bass. I ran some more searches but was still unable to find anything on Brett Richardson; but then session players are frequently not credited on liner notes. So that part of the listing may indeed by accurate.
-
Strange indeed .
-
it looks just my Series 1, I hope he can sell for the money he's asking, I don't think so but!!!!!
David T
PS my guitar player has a guitar that was rumored to have been owned by John Lennon.
I started that rumor !!!!!
-
David is right. The 70's Series 1 usually were sold for 2.000 to 2.500 in the past at Ebay. So there was no bid as it was to be expected.

Well, the listing has been re-written! I wonder who mentioned it to him.........
But again, there are two listings, and both at $5000.
