I just can imagine some kind of LFO controling panning between neck and bridge PUs... Sounds great.
You can check at 3'31", after they talk about the Strat/Tele trem bridge.

That was interesting.  In addition to the LesLee effect, I thought the side mounted truss rod adjustment was intriguing.

Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I will say that that model of whammy bar has been used on the Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Mustang, and (IIRC) Bass VI - but not on Strats or Teles.

It would have been interesting if they varied the behind the bridge string length to create some kind of chord to drone with.

A tailpiece with sliding anchors might make a variety of chords possible.

There is a history of behind the bridge pickups and guitars meant to sound that way. Check out Hans Reichel. He's made some incredible creations, aside from the infamous Daxophone.

I always liked the sound of the Coral electric sitar, which had drone strings on the body.

I bought the Italia copy of one of those, the intonation was off by an inch and a half !!
Seems like the engineers measured string length to front of the buzz bridge, and called for a neck
scale that would never play in tune.
   Well maybe only on the 14th fret (that was about where the ocatve was  :o ). I sold the neck...gonna make some sonic contraption with the rest of it.

I had a Jerry Jones copy of the Coral Sitar.  The drone pickup really didn't do much other than look cool.  Warmoth makes necks with the side-adjusting truss rod.  Definitely better than having to remove the neck.  Old Gretschs used a similar adjusting mechanism which required a special tool.   This one seems like a lot of work and extra electronics, (that can break), just to get an on-board version of a seldom used effect.  Very cool while simultaneously somewhat impractical, IMHO.

Peter, there are 2 guitars. Both with the Leslie thing, but you're right, the one you saw still at stoped video is kind of based on a Mustang.
