Usually 50-60 on a good day, 150 on a really good day... but 2800+ today ?! Just wondering... what in the wide-world of great guitars is going on here?
-
I'm guessing bots.
-
Not only have I not noticed the web traffic counter, I have never heard of it and have no idea what it is or where to go to notice it! To quote the late great Rickey Ricardo, can someone do some splainin'?
Bill, tgo
-
Bill, down at the bottom of the main page is a daily running count. It's usually just a handful, but for whatever reason, the hits multiplied 20x today. Dave is probably right, it's just bots, but wow, that's a weird big jump.
-
According to the counter, we nearly passed 4300 day before yesterday... come to think of it, the Club page was kinda' glitchy on the 16th.
Y'all reckon the ol' Profile Gremlin is trying to hack his way back in here? ;D
-
Shattered the record again today, and I notice the Club site seems to be reacting slowly with a message popping up saying something about the server being busy...
4783 Guests here now. Hope y'all got a BIG living room Mica! ;D
-
Yes..
Getting an SMF busy message thingy... reload, reload, reload and things then pop up.
-
Connection here has been horrible today, no big deal just kind of annoying.
-
Are we under bot attack???
-
I've asked for some help with the issue - hope it gets resolved soon!
-
Thanks Mica!!!
-
Things should be better this morning, though the current fix is apparently not a permanent solution. It looks like we may have a more robust solution very soon. There will be a post about this when it's ready.
-
Hopefully the solution will not confuse me for a bot. I'm on a couple of message boards that when bot attacks occur "resolve" them by setting things up in a way that either no one can access the site or some has to go through multiple screens (click on all photos that contain a traffic light) in order to gain access. At least if the moderators and Mica decide to do that they have the option of making it an Alembic quiz (e.g., click on all instruments that are not Alembic or click on all Europa basses).

Brian; there may be more posted on this tomorrow.
