I went to see Stan last night as Yoshi’s in Oakland. The band was incredible! Do not miss this band if humanly possible!
-
:)
-
I see you found something to match your favorite glasses too! ;D
...and somebody in the band is a Fleetwood Mac fan. Hmm. 8)

I spot an M.C. Escher book. ;D

Outstanding!!

I saw them last month in a small venue in MA, great band, great show. :)
-
It's always worth seeing Stanley. Always an amazing band.
-
I’m going to see him again in Bristol UK this year.

;)

I agree Stanley is amazing right now! He has put together a really great group — they aren't just support musicians to back him up, but a talented, creative band.
I saw him a couple of weeks ago at the Blue Note in NYC. He had the Alembic on stage but never picked it up (I asked him later and he said unfortunately the room was too small for it).
Here’s a pic where you can see it peeking out from behind him while he plays his upright.

I just got home from Stanley's gig in Bristol London. He as usual was awesome and his double bass playing brilliance has more relevance to me now that I'm learning. So effortless when he plays it and his alembic.
It was a completely different band from the last two times I'd seen him but they were incredible musicians. In his exuberence the drummer broke the bass drum skin and for the encore he put the floor tom on it's side and used it as a bass drum..... Never seen that before but it worked.

I managed to get right at the front of stage bang in the centre so managed to get this clip of School Days. Usually I try to minimise taking pictures and videos at gigs like this as I want to enjoy the gig and not be a distraction. But I couldn't avoid this one. I hope he didn't mind.
Enjoy

Jazzy, that was a treat thank you for sharing.
That guy sure does make those Olympics sound good ain’a? ;)
-
Yeah these Olympic champions are a bit special.
-
I see he's still playing it.

:)
Funny coincidence Keith, I was just describing the differences I experienced between your BB and (almost) twin S1 the other day. I hear that same *zing* in Jazzy's video, in the hands of a master of course.
