I have such a gas for this one....

Interesting.
I bought that one from Joe and then sold it to another fellow in Washington.
I didn't realize Sweetwater had a used section.
It is definitely a cool bass!

Goran, Here is a recording I made with that very bass:

I keep meaning to go back and develope that song more. It's sort of just an idea for a song at this point.
I usually try to make at least one recording with all of the basses that I come across.
I also made this video while doing some recording for a different track.

It is definitely a killer bass with it's own unique voice, tone and personality.

Thanks for video man, I just need to see who is selling this, because as I see it it doesn't go through Sweetwater.
The guy still uses Gmail address... no name or nothing... we'll see
but thanks a lot!

Looks to be in very nice condition, and the price is on the low side of the market for this model I believe. A deal waiting for someone!
-
I also didn’t realize there’s a Classifieds section at Sweetwater.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that this used Sweetwater listing appears to be fraudulent.
Easy enough to do. They must have copied and pasted the info and some photos from either my Reverb or ebay listing.
I just spoke with the guy I sold this bass to and he does not have it listed for sale.
He says he loves it and plans on keeping it.
Goran, did you ever contact the supposed seller? If so, what did he say?
-
Have you contacted Sweetwater to let them know it's a fraudulent listing, or, perhaps better, asked the person that currently owns the instrument to report it to Sweetwater?
-
I did, actually we talked over email about shipping the bass.
I asked him a few times to give me a shipping quote and he told me to give him my address and I did, then he said the shipping is for free, that I just need to send the money in.
The email address that he has looked weird, so I just copy his email address into Google and I realize he's been selling few guitars on a weird websites and ads. I think it's it's fraud.
-
That's a good idea David....
-
Just checked, it works like ad thing.
Here is what Sweetwater says: "Sweetwater is not responsible for ads posted on the Sweetwater Used Gear Marketplace, and we have no part in transactions. We are only involved in providing the public bulletin board."
-
I guess we always need to exercise "Buyer Beware" regardless of the site. Alembic Club has a good network of members. I'm glad this was caught early. It's always terrible to read stories of people being conned.
-
Wooo, im so glad I’m in this forum. I have been emailing this guy these 2 days too but he only replied my first mail saying that the bass is still for sale. Thanks for pointing this fraud out guys!
His email is xostty0@gmail.com

What a shame, I was looking forward to go all Alembic next year. :-[

He replayed me too.... sounds weird...
-
I have written to Sweetwater three separate times now to report this fraudulent listing but they have not yet pulled it.
I have not even received a reply from them.
Strange.
-
I think they won't reply, they have a written that Sweetwater is not responsible for ads posted, so I think that's it for them.
Highly professional work... 😀
-
How do you know it's a fraud for sure ?
Is he accepting PayPal ?

Good day gentlemen,
I have not visited the forum for a long time, stopped by today and boy am I glad. I live about 5 miles from the given location of this bass, Eastpointe, MI. I emailed the seller about the bass, hoping I could stop by to take a look. Thanks to some of the sketchy background the members have discovered I will approach with caution. I will report back if indeed the seller responds. Thank you gentlemen for your eyes & ears.
Regards, Gary

Guys, again, this is a total scam.
This was my bass. I sold it to a gentleman that still owns it.
The person supposedly selling it on Sweetwater used photos and details from my ebay listing and is fraudulently claiming it is for sale.
The bass is not legitimately for sale.
Again, I know who owns it currently as I just sold it to him a matter of months ago. He loves the bass and has no plans on selling it.
The listing on Sweetwater is a scam and it has been up since July.
Additionally, the person that currently owns this bass lives in WA, not MI.

Gary,
You should write Sweetwater and let them know that this listing is fraudulent. I have already written them twice and I think one or more people here may have written in as well. I am very surprised that the listing is still up.

J9,
I just got a response from the "seller" through Sweetwater after I asked to come look at the bass:
"Hello Gary, I am actually looking out for a straight sale, not trade at the moment. Thanks"[/size]
I shall let Sweetwater know that this is a scam.
