Brilliantly funny guy, though it seemed always as a sidekick. I think he and Barbara Eden were pretty close, particularly in recent years. I think they were the last two surviving cast members from "IDOJ" too.

He made me laugh every afternoon after elementary school,
often with a mouthful of dry breakfast cereal (honeycombs or fruity pebbles).
That's quite the picture...how'd you do that ?? ;)

I forget which episode it's from Elwood, but Daily played bass anyway... he used it several times as a prop for Roger Healy; astronaut/upright bass student. (pretending of course, that he couldn't play) I don't remember if he ever used it on Newhart or not, but I wouldn't be surprised. Leave it to a guy like Daily to even make bass-playin' funny!

Thanks for the Billuminations.

Sad. Great show. I too would watch the re-runs after school. I had quite a crush on Barbara Eden. Of course, back then I didn't consider the fact that by the 80's, she was old enough to be my mom!

Dude, I watched it first run, and she's older than my mother!
Which should by no means be taken as lessening her rather spectacular babeularity.........
