Title: Stanley Clarke is touring
Post by: StefanieJones on August 28, 2018, 11:03:53 PM
Saw that he's touring to promote his latest album. SO if you're into it, see if he's playing anywhere near you. Unfortunately for me, the day I could make it to see him is also my anniversary and I got a nope don't want to do that on that day...  :'(

Unfortunately the UK leg of his tour doesn't come as far north as Scotland (par for the course with these big name Jazz artistes).  jazzyvee might be interested in the Manchester date - 30th October

Wow I must have missed that. Thanks Jacko, Manchester and Bristol that's my choice and I'm more or less mid way between both. I'll give London a miss as I have a dirty diesel gas guzzler and don't want to add the congestion charge to the cost of the trip. :-)
Maybe when I decide which one I will ask Mica if she can pull some strings again and see if I can get an interview with Stanley for my radio programme.

Wows how awesome that would be, Jazzy!

I saw this comment from him, "I'm very good with taking anything and turning it into something.” and it got me to thinking it would be cool if we could all do some sort of collab and get him to turn it into something.

Slick site he's got; too bad he's not coming to Vancouver...

I noticed his 2 Chicago dates aren't listed on his web site. Oct. 16, 6PM and 9PM.

Bummer that the Yoshi's shows are the same weekend as Hardly Strictly Bluegrass!

I've really been digging "The Message" lately. It's not what I expected but is so good. I like the unexpected.

I saw Stanley and his band tonight, cool music and great show!  I’ve only seen him once before, at a Return to Forever show, that was a while ago and I was quite a distance away and couldn’t see anything.  This time it was a small room and I was up close.  I’ll just say that I have a completely different perspective of the bass now than I did yesterday!  Wow!   :)

He is a master... and just may have influenced me to buy an Alembic!  ;D

Admittedly the last time I saw him, it was his upright skills that slayed me.

He played his upright for the majority of the show...I enjoyed every moment of it. :)
