Hi I recently bought this beautiful short scale bass and am staggered by how close to new it looks for a near 40 year old bass. Hence I wondered if you have any history for it. Thanks!

Here's the details I found in the instrument file:
top: Walnut
accent: none
body: Mahogany
back: Walnut
neck: Maple and Purpleheart
scale: 30.75" short
fingerboard: Ebony
peghead veneers: Walnut
inlays: Mother of pearl
pickups: SC1 and HX
controls: "Series I" volume x2, filter x2, Q-switch x2, pickup selector switch, 5-pin and 1/4" stereo outputs
originally made for: Private individual, San Francisco, CA
birthday: November 27, 1979
The bass was refinished under warranty in September of 1980-the paint manufacturer changed the formula and this wasn't the only one we had to redo.
