A friend of mine recently acquired a 4 string 1989 Persuader. It's got a very nice flame maple top. Spoiler body shape. Cone headstock. It's in excellent condition with only one or two dings in the clear coat less than the size of a pencil tip. Electronics all work. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Was just curious what a fair asking price would be? He knows nothing about Alembics and I no nothing about Alembic basses.
Regards,
Jonathan

Looking at comps on ebay and reverb, somewhere in the $1600-2200 range seems to be what they are going for.

Beautiful Persuader your friend has there, and just 11 numbers newer than mine at #5559.
Flame maple top on mahogany core is a great combination, and it looks to be in fine condition too. Verify the bridge J-type pickup is an Alembic issue... it may just have the gold embossed lettering worn off, and I can't see that detail on mobile. Other than that, and barring any other issue outside this picture, I'd stay above the midpoint in asking price.
Wow, what a looker. 8)

I'll second that opinion on the price range, but part of equation is whether your friend is looking to unload this quickly or can wait awhile. I think that at $1,600-1,700 it would go quickly, but that would be a couple of hundred less than he might be able to get for it. I'd suggest keeping the price under $2,000 is he wants it sold within a reasonable amount of time.

Thanks guys. I'll pass all of this along to him. :)
