Title: Avery Sharpe bass
Post by: son_of_magni on July 19, 2018, 03:32:26 PM
I was just watching an old McCoy Tyner video and see what looks to me like an Alembic with series 1 electronics and DiMarzio JJ pickups.  Does anyone know the story behind this bass and what's really in it?

Ken Smith? Doesn't look like Alembic...

Hmm, I was sure I saw an Alembic logo on the headstock.  I have to watch it again...

That's definitely not the Alembic logo, only thing that looks Alembicish is the truss rod(s) cover. :-)
At first I thought the logo looks like the big S, but there's more going on... (looks like a T on its side?)

Not an Alembic.  And I agree with Flip on the truss rod cover.

Yeah, not Alembic and it does look like a KS headstock shape.  Partly I think that switch on the lower horn threw me.  :P
