Yesterday I went to pick up the cab, and it died.
The bossman said, "I don't the money to fix it; sorry."
I said to myself (well, I'm in the Wickershams' living room, so I won't repeat it).
I asked Her "WTF do I do now???"
We looked at some things, we talked to one of the sons, we talked to each other.....
and today I told the Teamsters to send me the application for my pension, then I applied for Social Security!!
It won't be as much as I'd like, or as much as if I'd waited 4 more years, but it will be more than I was making working - without the added hassle of, well, working. My aged buttocks are RETIRED!!
Peter (Who just needs to figure how to get through the next month or 3 until the funds start coming.....)

It sounds perhaps that congratulations are appropriate.

Thank you, Dave! The Lovely & Charming Mrs. Cowboy told me this afternoon she can't remember the last time she's seen me this happy.

Very nice, congratulations! :)

A bit jealous over here... no alarm and naps are mandatory! :-D

Now you'll have all that extra time to spend with the twins. I made the move 8 years ago and is probably why I'm still alive today. It is amazing how lowering your stress levels improves your health not to mention outlook. Congratulations.

Thanks, Keith. Only problem is I'm in IL; the twins (and their big brother) are/will be in CA. And their cousins are in CO & AK.

Well, even if it ain't how you planned, sounds like you're okay with the outcome. Enjoy yourself in retirement, Coz. Go play some guitar! If you really miss driving folks around after a while, there's always Über. ;D

Yes but no work schedule means there is plenty of time for travel. Not to mention CA isn't a bad place to winter over when you compare it to the polar express.

Congratulations, Cozmik. I am glad your overall stress has diminished, that's awesome. Cheers!
