Playing the last chord with a big ending of the last song today I snapped off at the post my pickup selector switch. :( Haven't dug in yet to spec out.
1985 Distillate
Anyone ever replace one?
Mica, if available could you please contact me via e-mail
Thank you
Pete

Yikes, Pete. :o
I haven't had to replace one, but getting the switch out is pretty easy. The selector switch on 81 D 1986 was replaced with a pan module at some point. There's a picture of what it looks like removed, somewhere in the SN lookup thread here: http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=21901.msg221813#msg221813
Hope that helps... shouldn't be too hard to fix.
Good to hear from you... haven't seen you around in a while. :)

Thanks Gregory,
I'm sure it's an easy fix labor wise. Heck, I used to wire entire Studios !
Just somewhat of a concern that the switch might be of a specialized nature?
My jaw dropped when I saw the selector cap fly across the room!
I'm doing great Brother, not online as much lately.
Just saw some of your threads. Hope things are working out for you.
Peace,
Pete

Further inspection shows it's a Gray Hill 10 solder point rotary switch. There is little to no service loop to inspect deeper without cutting and splicing wires. I do see ( and my eyes aren't what they once were ;) ) a small resistor bridging a couple of poles. Im wondering if i could get a prewired pigtailed replacement?
So disheartening when a Bass is down. Good thing I have others. :)

Yes - we sell this pretty much only prewired - it's not an easy task. I'll send you details by email.

Thank you Mica! Got it and replied

Don’t feel bad Peter, I broke mine on my Distillate also. Mica and company took care of me!
