Sorry, you can't really think about our standard bridge spacing like this. Most other makers space the strings at the bridge center to center, while we space them edge to edge, so the gaps between the strings are the same with our standard setup, so you can't compare our bridge spacing to others because we are measuring different things.
We space the nut slots center to center, because you generally aim for the center of the string with your fretting hand. Your other hand tends to aim for the edge of string (unless you tap alot!), so we space them with even increments between the strings. You can of course custom order with center to center bridge spacing if you like (hey, it's easier so we don't mind).
This is the whole picture of calculations:
Epic V
scale length = 34
string dia. 1=.045 2=.065 3=.080 4=.105 5=.128
at nut end:
fingerboard width = 1.875
treble edge allowance = .15
bass edge allowance = .15
string center 1 to 2 = 0.372125
string center 2 to 3 = 0.372125
string center 3 to 4 = 0.372125
string center 4 to 5 = 0.372125
spacing between 1 and 2 = 0.317125
spacing between 2 and 3 = 0.299625
spacing between 3 and 4 = 0.279625
spacing between 4 and 5 = 0.255625
at bridge end:
treble edge allowance = .15
bass edge allowance = .15
string center 1 to 2 = 0.685
string center 2 to 3 = 0.7025
string center 3 to 4 = 0.7225
string center 4 to 5 = 0.7465
spacing between 1 and 2 = .63
spacing between 2 and 3 = .63
spacing between 3 and 4 = .63
spacing between 4 and 5 = .63
string edge to edge = 2.943
fingerboard width at nut = 1.875
fingerboard width at 24th fret = 2.91
fingerboard width at 25th fret = 2.93

So, close to 16mm at bridge...
