I stumbled across an old Fernandes bass on eBay, and it is supposedly associated with Alembic, showing the Series 1 configuration as far as I can see, but also it also has THE logo.
I thought I read on the Forum a while ago that there were instances where Alembic licensed their technology, but other than a few Blackknife headstocks, I am not sure I have seen Alembic's logo on another bass legitimately. I am sure I may have details that are woefully wrong, here.
However, if I am not mistaken further, one point of the Forum is to watch out and alert Alembic and others for potentially inappropriate trademark infringement or misuse of copyright in advertising so the appropriate action can be taken. The eBay link is submitted for the Forum's scrutiny and opinion, and certainly for whatever attention Mica deems appropriate for the matter.

This bass has previously been discussed on this site. The logo is not authorized. The wood work on these Fernandes instruments is quite nice, but the electronics pale in comparison with the real McCoy.

Thanks, Bill, for offering a more concrete answer than I could. I had a recollection that this was not the first time that this bass had shown up for sale and a resulting discussion.
