I saw a Bob Weir GIBW that needs some tlc to sing again or is about ready to become a parts guitar to potentially infuse new build projects with some kindness. While I am glad it's not an Alembic that has these problems, it's still sad to see a pretty cool thing like this in disrepair.
It's an interesting datum to note, and pretty cool to just stop and stare at this thing and think about the evolution of the Dead's gear and what they chose to shape their sound over their career.

Those are nice feeling necks.
I have one on a MIM strat.

I'm pretty sure that's an Alvarez Villian. Some of them used Modulus-made necks.

I don't know much about the overlap between Alvarez and Modulus products; I'll have to look into it. But there is a supposedly early Modulus Blackknife on Reverb, which I assume a bunch of people have already seen:

And thanks, Adriaan, for moving the thread to the right place; I wasn't thinking last night. Cheers.

Beware the backbow on the neck. It's pretty much impossible to fix.

I do love the old Modulus Blackknife necks. Here's a link to a guitar I built using one. A joy to play!
