Title: A blast from my own past
Post by: edwin on May 02, 2018, 05:14:32 PM
Just found this video. I had no idea it existed.

From when I wished I had an Alembic. And when I knew how to play the bass.

Yes indeed! That definitely sounds like the early 90's.
Nice.

I had a dream about you last night Edwin - Shockra was playing at my temple so I had to set up the PA - I only had 4-6 inputs but there were like 8-10 people in the band! I think I woke up before soundcheck ended...

Very cool vintage video - I thought it was a Mark King bass, but it has a headstock...

Harry, you must be thinking David King. ;D

Nice find Edwin!

I listened to some of the Denver Shockra reunion show on the LMA and the band still sounds great despite the long layoff.

That's it! I know Edwin has/had one, I played it once when I was looking into getting one of my own. But I don't think this is it.

This isn't the David King bass. I hadn't gotten it yet at that point. This one was made by Ron Gulliotta in upstate NY. I'll post a picture of it as it is now, proudly wearing a pair of Alembic jazz pickups.
