$2200
I’m tired of being broke so it looks like it’s time to pass on my Alembic Persuader. The bass is in very good condition with a mahogany body and a bubinga top. I’m looking to make a sale in the MD DC VA DEL PA region; I won’t ship it. Cash is preferred, but I may entertain trade plus cash offers. Let me know if you’re interested. Thanks!

Nice.
-
Thanks! It is very nice, but it’s not getting the attention it deserves.
-
Sorry to hear about the hard times, Rob. :(
I've been there too, man... I hope moving it along helps you out of a tight spot. It's a beauty... I'd adopt it myself if I could. ;)
-
Okay, the times aren't as hard as I make them seem. Just decided that I could use some cash more than I need to have a fine bass like this sitting dormant! 😀
-
Price lowered to $2000.
-
Anyone care to make an offer?
-
yes :)
-
Alembic friends--am I asking too much for this bass?
-
Rob, I don’t think so, seems like the middle of the range to me. It might be that there are a lot of basses up for sale right now.
-
Thanks. I'm not even sure I want to sell it. Played it last night and she sounds and feels great, of course!
-
Keep an eye out for how much it would cost to replace it if you sell and regret later, then make a final decision. If I didn't need the cash I would hold on to it.
-
Great idea. The only reason I'm considering selling it is that I could use some cash right now due to a lack of gigs to supplement the meager pay from my day job. 😀
It is really a very nice bass, but I do have many other basses including the EVH in my avatar pic.
I haven't had many offers, so I may end up keeping it. If so, I'll just keep enjoying it. As Jerry said, I will survive!

I think your price is right on.
If you needed to sell it in a hurry and if you were willing to take less, I think it would sell very quickly for around $1700.
I just won an auction for a similar Persuader for $1592. 1986 Zebrawood.
Usually the auctions go for less than the Buy It Now style listings.

There does seem to be a lull in the marketplace right now though. Your bass is certainly worth every cent of what you are asking.
If you have a Reverb and/or Ebay account, I would certainly recommend listing there as well.
-
Oh yeah, you won't ship...
That is the other significant factor.
If you were willing to ship, and if you list it on ebay and Reverb, you will have no trouble selling.
-
Yes, I know my refusal to ship seriously limits my chances of selling this bass. I always like to meet in person to make gear deals to assure that everyone is happy with the deal. I also have zero experience with shipping instruments, particularly expensive instruments. I'm very apathetic when it comes to selling this; I don't really want to. However, if the right deal comes along I will.
