Post by: Eric1616 on March 25, 2018, 04:16:01 PM
Anyone got one they wouldn’t mind parting with?  Thanks.

I have a short scale, long scale and a two bass long scale case, and rate them highly. Top quality product. I'm not selling mine but hope you find one.

Jazzyvee, just wondering if my series 1 would fit into Harvest leather gigbag?

Goran, my long scale omega cut bass just barely fits (both length and width) in my Harvest gig bag. It fits better in my Reunion Blues gig bag.

Thanks a lot mate, just wondering how is it since it has angled headstock, is it safe?

I actually just use my Harvest bag with my short scale SC body bass and it seems to be sturdy and protective for that bass.  I don’t think I would use it for my long scale bass, although the omega cut long scale bass fits it’s just too tight.  I either use the hard G&G case or the Reunion Blues case for my long scale bass.  Jazzyvee may have other thoughts as well.

I wonder about the angled headstock thing too for my Stanley Clarke 5-string - I would love to have a case that had a support for behind the neck - near the 2nd-4th fret? I think MONO makes cases like that, but would want to try it first because it's probably made for a Fender P/J style - like this: https://monocreators.com/collections/bassist/products/single-electric-bass (https://monocreators.com/collections/bassist/products/single-electric-bass)

Their website still lists Bananas at Large in San Rafael as a distributor but the Bananas website doesn't show anything from MONO - should drop them a line and see what's up...

Hey Harry, I have a Mono Vertigo case if you want to come by and check it out.

I have a harvest bag specifically designed for short scale basses. (The company owner has a short scale alembic) It has a moveable neck support which is almost the full length of the back of the neck from body to headstock so that whole area is supported. The other two standard cases do not have that support but i do rollup my bass strap and place it behind the neck of my basses to lift it away from the back of the case. I have europas and the length fits snugly. I wouldnt use them if i had an omega or pointy bottommed bass as there is not enough padding at the bottom of the case to protect the tips if you had a vertical drop of the case. Fyi the reunion blues cases are not long enough to fit an europa 5 bass.

It's so hard to find a perfect gigbag for my Alembic, I know it fits perfectly into Fbass's new gig bag because I have it.... but to find a new one it's so hard....

I have 2 Reunion Blues Continental bags which I use for all my basses and my Rogue 5 fits well. I also use them for my Fodera Emperor 5 with the extended B string which is a couple of inches longer than my Rogue.

Basses worth several thousand dollars belong in Hard Cases in my humble opinion.

Yep you are right and i have flight cases for mine but mostly i use quality bags because i travel with my bass nd i am extremely careful. So far not had any problems that resulted in damage.
It’s horses for courses in my view.

I realize Eric is interested in a Harvest bag, but since Reunion Blues Continental bags were mentioned, I have a couple of pics showing the fit of a short scale series and a Europa 4-string series in one.

I highly recommend the Continental bags, but if you want leather, check out Cronkhite. He was the founder of Reunion Blues and his bags are, in my opinion, the best leather bags out there. He has stopped running the day to day of the business, but those taking it over seem equally competent.

I asked for a front pocket that would manage a blue box power supply and it's perfect.

Cronkhite for gig bags and Calton for hard cases!
