Bought this beauty some 20 years ago, but only recently learned about this forum. Would love to know a little more about its history.

Took a picture to show it off :)

Welcome to the club! Looks like one of the early Essence basses that has been kept in great condition. Sometimes it takes a while before Mica has time to look up a history request but hang in there and you will get a response. Meanwhile there is a ton of great info archived here. Maybe check the FAQ section which has a section with basic info about the various models.

Thanks StephenR. I have already been around the forum a bit.
Its fun seeing similar models from around the same time in here.

Hi Søren,
Here's the details from the instrument file:
top: Flame Maple
accent: Walnut pinstripe
body: Maple
neck: 3-piece Maple
scale: 34" long
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: none
pickups: MXY4
controls: volume, pan, filter, mono output
originally made for: Guitar Workshop, Oslo, Norway
birthday: Not recorded, but looks likely to by November 1990
The original owner was in Denmark. Note there are a few versions of the Essence body shape, yours is the original. Enjoy!

My Essence a 1991 and almost identical to your 90. The shape reminds me of Jerry Garcia's Wolf guitar with an extended upper horn. Beautiful and excellent playing and sounding bass. Enjoy!
