This one's back up for sale.... Double-P Vector body with Signature electronics and LED's. She's got a couple ouch-marks, but pretty solid. I bet this thing sounds unbelievable. 8)

This one seems to be having a difficult time finding a permanent home, shame as it seems like a nice instrument with lots of upgrade features.
-
This is about 20 miles from me. I'm going to see if I can check it out. I'm not a big fan of P pickups, but the rest of it looks very interesting: 34" 5 string! LEDs! Alembic! How can you go wrong?
-
I'm pretty sure this is the last SN look-up on this bass.

Edwin, if you aren't a fan of P pickups then you probably don't want a bass with 2 of them. Just saying.

The P pickup on my Persuader when solo'd sounds positively thunderous... I find myself using the J in the bridge position to sorta' temper it with some snarl. I can hardly imagine having two of them in sequence. ::)
In making comparisons, I would describe it as sounding 'warmer' than the AXY's on my Distillate basses, and a touch less articulate. The closest thing I have to that sound is the AXY 'FatBoy' on my Custom fretless solo'd out.

I have an elan 4 with twin p-style pickups. I didn't really know much about P style pickups until I had this bass and started to hear their characteristic sound. Like Edwin they are not my favourite sound although these sound great and definitely an alembic sound, it's not my first call bass and so it gets used mainly when that specific tone is required then it's just what the doctor ordered. Made of all maple body and monstly maple neck it's an extremely punchy bass.

If I were going to buy this one, I would have done it when it was offered here for about $2K a year or so ago.

Hello Danno, Haven't seen you round these parts is a while.
-
I lurk a lot. Been busy playing guitar as well as bass and I don't wax poetic on gear like I used too. Hope all is great with you and yours!
-
Everyone is doing well. Thanks. Youngest moved back in with us a few years back after splitting with ex number two and decided to head back to school. She graduates with her Pharmacy degree this spring. Black is still her favorite color. Oldest is married and expect first child. I hear you on the gear. I've been slowly whittling mine down. It is nice to get rid of the clutter and gain some room.

Wonderful Sir! Enjoy and congrats! Vector coming to Jersey. First white bass since my 82 BCRich Mockingbird. Brought it back to ASH after a day and got my 83 Spoiler. I sold it a short while ago to Paul Raineri. Anyone fancy a Supernatural?

Bass arrived safe and sound. Plays great, great sound. A happy addition to the family.
-
That's awesome! I saw this one and felt a pang, it looks cool and I like the Vector shape and I have a thing for double P-pickups (one of my early P-Basses got modded with an extra split-coil) - glad it stayed in the family!
-
I'd love to hear some clips!

Truly a great value with the signature guts and side lens in red. Now to sell the Jaydee to cover the cost of this acquisition. The Jaydee is quite Alembic like in sound for a bolt on and a bit of a rarity. This is the only one I have ever seen in person and played. But as we know Alembics have that certain crispness that others don't. Perhaps articulate is a better word.
