Nice write-up, thanks for posting.

I'd love to post a similar one on the guy who made me realize I was never going to be a luthier. His name is Ward Elliott, and I had generally the same experience with him. I'm a fairly competent repairman, largely because of his tutelage, but he's an absolute master.

I've got a running joke with Elwood here - we're loothiers... spelling intentional.  ;D
