Title: Happy Birthday, John McVie...
Post by: edwardofhuncote on November 26, 2017, 04:51:59 AM
Fleetwood-Mac's anchorman turns 72 today, and gearing up for another World Tour in Summer 2018, or so says the Rumour mill.   :)

Wish we could get him to pull those old Alembics outta' retirement for one more trip around... shoot, I'll caddy for him!   ;D

I've been digging in to early McVie lately - his stuff with John Mayall's Blues Breakers is great - including a recently released "bootleg" of the band with McVie, Mick Fleetwood & Peter Green - recording quality not fantastic but good enough to enjoy!

I thought he was going to be taking the "continuously fretted" bass out on the road after sending it back to the Mothership for a checkup, but alas? Here it is hanging out with my doubleneck:

I bet those two old Dragons swapped a few stories while in there together.  :)

I plugged in yesterday evening, and played through the entire Bare Trees album. Not just for John's birthday, but in rejoicing THE END of leaf-raking season, 2017.   :P
