Hi, I just now found this group and can't wait to dive in.
I recently bought this 12str from a dealer in Fla. I think he may have posted these pics here, but they were taken down. Anyway, it's now here with me in Canada and I'd love to know if anyone can shed some light on it's production. Mostly, how many?? I've never seen a 12 str from Alembic, apart from David Crosby's modified Guild.

Welcome Phantom... that is quite an entry you have there. :)
Here is an earlier Showcase Thread on your guitar: http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=8387.0
Several of us were watching that one when it was for sale: http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=23074.0
Congratulations & Compliments! ;)

Welcome to the club! Nice score, beautiful guitar.
Since you have the build sheet there isn't a lot more to add. Link below to a recent thread here from when your guitar was posted for sale. If you scroll down that thread there is a link to a previous old thread about the same guitar which mentions a few details you are probably not aware of. There is one other club member with a 77 12-string. Hope you get years of enjoyment out of yours.

Beautiful guitar, looks like it is in great shape, must sound fantastic!

Thanks all. I have a big thing for electric 12s and just couldn't resist this one. I have a 6st Series one that plays beautifully and I hoped that the 12 would be as easy to play, but it needs a little work first. The strings are toast and the action is pretty high at the moment. How are truss rod adjustments on these guitars? Safe to approach as usual? I'll post some fresh pics of it when I get into it a bit deeper.
Here's a couple of shots of the 6 str. The guitar belonged to Hank Alrich's brother, Bill, previously. The serial # is 74 114.

Hi, Phantom. Congrats on the new guitar and welcome to the club. I'm the other member with a Series 1 12 string that StephenR referenced above. Here's a link to mine:

By the way, Crosby's 12 string, (which I had the good fortune to play once), isn't a Guild Starfire. Rather, it is a rare Gibson Crest with a new neck.
Bill, the guitar one

Thanks for the link! And thanks for the Crosby guitar correction.

Wow, that ‘74 Guitar is gorgeous; Bill, your 12 string as well! :)

Thanks. That one plays like a dream. How unusual is that headstock?

Quite rare. If you look through the Showcase section for Series I Guitars and Basses, there are only a couple of the 6-inline headstocked guitars.
Here are a couple more like it:

Interesting! That Carlos guitar looks like a twin to this one. Thanks for replying!
