What would it take to modify an older DS-5R so that the 1/4" outputs function the same way in mono mode that the new blue boxes function. Namely, both (or all 4 in the rack) outputs have the exact same mono signal.
Currently, there is mono signal from both jacks, but the jack NOT labeled MONO is a reduced volume.
Thanks!

I'm sure my new blue box has both neck and bridge signals out of the mono (bass) jack when the unit is switched to mono plus the bridge only from the treble output jack as well.

Erm excuse me I got that wrong, just checked when I was practicing before my gig tonight. Both output have both pickups when mine is in mono mode.

(No hurry at all, as there are SO many more important things right now.)

So dad says that we can do it - but we haven't had to request yet. Since we haven't done it before, he'd like to be able to test it so you can send yours in to be the guinea pig and we'll document the process and publish it here so that others can enjoy it too! Just send me a quick email when you have a chance to ship it in.

Thanks, Mica. I have a couple of gigs coming up that likely will require my rack, so it might be after the first of the year before I can let it go to Santa Rosa. I'll be in touch.
