Just booked today! I'm hoping to get some special guests enlisted.
We'll be in Santa Cruz and other NoCal spots over the weekend.
-
Edwin, far effin' out! Great venue!! I suspect there will be an unusually strong Alembic presence there that night!!! Is there a list of the other NorCal dates?

Same weekend as Hardly Strictly Bluegrass... Sounds like a fun mini-tour! Should be able to make it to TXR.

Yeah, it just happened that way. We'll see how it goes.
As far as the routing goes, well, a routing sometimes seems more like a reaming for the little guys on the road. At least it's not back and forth between the east coast and midwest or some other ridiculous 3,000 miles in 7 days kind of thing I've done in the past.

Here's the final schedule:
10/6 Don Quioxtes w/Mike Berry - Felton/Santa Cruz 830pm
10/7 Rio Nido Roadhouse w/Mike Berry- Rio Nido, CA 5-7:30 Early show!
10/8 KPIG w/ Jim Lewin 11am
10/8 Michaels on Main w/Jim Lewin - Soquel, CA

"A tribute to the 10/9/76 Day On The Green"
Is there going to be a Who tribute band, too?
I was there.

I wish there would be, that would be fun! But, we're going to do selections from that setlist, along with some John Lennon tunes to celebrate his birthday.
Hanging out at the airport, Starfire checked, all ready to hit California!
-
I remember that I never liked Squeezebox until I saw Who do it live that day. Who absolutely kicked ass on the song! (Where are Abbott and Costello when you need them - HA).

Looking forward to tomorrow night at Terrapin - anyone else going?
-
Bit of a drive; but hoping it's an enjoyable evening for all who are there.
-
Harry, I'm going and Wolf may be going too. I'm trying to talk Tina into going, too. Is Mika going? Would you be interested in meeting up for dinner?

Sounds good - I'll shoot you an email!
-
Pretty wiped out from Hardly Strictly Bluegrass but so far we plan on heading up to TXR later.
-
I'll just say that the band has been sounding better than ever! It will be a lot of fun!
-
I've gotten almost no sleep because of the impending fires and Imma 'bout to pass out. I'm bummed I won't see you guys play tonight, Edwin. Hope you have a blast!
-
Mica, just glad you and family are safe! We're waving the Alembic flag here - guitar player has a Skylark!

The show was a lot of fun - sounded great, not too loud, nice balanced mix. For the first set we sat on the stairs so I got a bit of an aerial view:

We managed to touch base with Edwin during the set break and caught a pic with him, his guitarist, Bill & myself (didn't manage to get Stephen into this one, but he was there too):

Got closer so that I could get a shot of Edwin slapping during Shakedown Street:

Here's a shot of the stage - out of chronological order - it's from when we arrived before the show started:

Very much enjoyed the show. The band was excellent, as was the sound mix. Edwin on his Starfire/Alembic sounded clear, clean, and powerful. TXR is such a well thought out comfortable venue. And with a half dozen in the Alembic contingent, they had a quality class of people attending. lol. It was senior management's first time eating at the restaurant. She said it was the best fried chicken she ever tasted!

My wife and I enjoyed the music last night and it was a plus to see Harry, Bill and their wives, too. Edwin, and his Starfire, sounded great and Mike Berry did a nice job filling in on rhythm guitar. Thanks for posting some pictures Harry!

Thanks for the reports and the pics!
Nice T-shirts!

Say hi to Jen! I was bummed I didn't have a moment to check in with her. It was a crazy day and night. Lots of fun!
Looks like we'll back in the spring, hopefully in the Grate Room.
