I'm the 2nd owner of this 1981 beautiful Alembic bass.
It's medium scale at 32" and is very comfortably playable.
I sent it back to Alembic at one point and had the electronics upgrade done which rendered the bass very quiet as far as interference noise goes which the older Alembics were known for.
Also the fretboard was completely redressed.
A custom master volume control was added in the Alembic shop as well which is so useful if you have your treble and bass volumes mixed just right.
I also ordered a new hardcase included here with a few scuffs and digs pictured.
Also included is the original Alembic blue power box which allows low and high outputs.
The original Alembic chord was pretty shot and Alembic wasn't doing repairs so I ordered a beautiful 30ft new red cable from Bayou Cables for $84.
This bass has a few bruises, but nothing major and I've tried to catch all of them in pictures.
A new Series 1 Alembic goes for over $18,000.
This Series 1 has over $1000 in upgrades.
Please drop me a line if you'd like to check this great instrument out.
Currently strung up with Victor Wooten signature strings
Here's a Craigslist post with a ton of pictures.
Please note the price for Alembic club members is $4500 plus shipping rather than the price listed in the Craigslist ad.
