Title: [ALL SOLD] Six Alembics For Sale
Post by: tx196059 on June 30, 2017, 10:03:25 AM
Hello all, I hope you have a fun and safe 4th of July Holiday.

I am finally making good on my promise to break up our old guitar club's instrument collection. I am motivated now because I am contemplating a new build from the Wickersham's. I will be uploading these guitars to my Reverb shop later this weekend, but thought I would give club members a discounted first look before I do. Have a great weekend everybody. Cheers!

Joe

**Prices do not include shipping. Shipping will be actual cost added, and will not ship till after July 5th, due to holiday. Payment can be check (shipped when funds clear) or PayPal "Friends and Family." If you want PayPal protection, add 1.5% to price, and I will pay for the other 1.5%. Below are prices, brief descriptions, and some pictures of each. Email me for more high-res shots, and a sound file of an open string sound check for each bass. Or ask here, and I will post certain requested photos to this thread. If you wait a few days, and you can check out the listings on Reverb for detailed descriptions. Electronics work great, and no play-ability issues on all of them. Some cosmetic issues on some as noted below.

[SOLD] 2000 Essence 6 (I think Bocote)-$2,700  11.5lbs, 34" scale, 2 3/8"nut, 18m spacing
-New finish, some scratches near bridge (picture attached) HSC

[SOLD] 1993 Essence 4 Blue-$1,700 8.7lbs, 34" scale, 1 5/8" nut, 18mm spacing
  - Mint condition, deluxe padded Gigbag

2006 Custom Elan Green- $2,000 10.6lbs, 34" scale, 2"nut, 16mm spacing
We have all seen this one before. Joey's Big Green Bass. Mint condition. There was a slight issue with a  small space between the fingerboard and neck near the nut from Joey's first buyer. I had it looked at buy my local repair guy, and he said not to touch it, it was too small. Picture attached. OHSC, Strap, case candy

1989 Elan Deep Blue 4-$1,800 9.3lbs, 34" scale, 1 3/4" nut, 16mm spacing
This bass was purchased for a project, but things change. Great condition, light scratching, and a small screw hole on the body near the strings, were some finger support was probably located. HSC

[SOLD] 1983 Spoiler KOA- $1,500 8.1lbs, 32"scale, 1 3/4"nut, 18mm spacing
Works great, just needs a new finish, as there is some checking near the strings(picture attached). Would be a great studio or practice bass. Padded Roadrunner Gig Bag.

1998 Vector 5 White, Red LEDs-$2,150- 10.9lbs, 34"scale, 1 3/4" nut, 19mm spacing
Mint condition. Before I got it, there was some damage to the finish from a shipping incident, which scratched the lower body. My repair guy matched the color, and painted it for a temporary fix, till I decided what to do with it. Photo attached. HSC

Joe does a very good job of documenting the instrument and following through on all the transaction details. No regrets on pulling the trigger!

I too would heartily vote for Joe.  My dealings with him were as promised, on time, no surprises, and I have no hesitation in recommending him.

The green Elan would make a killer alternative for someone in the market for a Sadowsky or any other 'Better than Fender' clone, especially if you want to take that concept in a neckthru direction.  That axe has the best low C's and D's I ever, ever heard, and will cut through any band if need be.

Family issues forced the sale, and things are slowly getting better, but I am not a player to be buying it back.  So anyone thinking of this axe, Go for It !

I love that green elan but with it being in USA I'd have shipping costs and duty and vat on that. Plus I'm saving for a refurb on my series shorty. So I'm just able to lust over it. All the best with the sale though they look fab basses.

Hello all. Thank you for all your comments, suggestions, and emails this past week. I have now put down money on my new build (more on that later), so the sale of the remaining basses are not that time critical anymore. I will be moving them, and other instruments to my Reverb shop.

I will have more pictures on my listings there, and a sound sample. Please feel free to contact me here, or on Reverb if you want to discuss anything you are interested in.  Thanks again!
