This forum is one of the few places I can some to escape news about the president, congressional probes and hearings.

Some find that music is good for the soul.
And it does seem that artistic expression, for the performer and listeners, can be connective on a very deep level, whether we are consciously aware of it or not; connective to something that is common to all of us, and much truer to the core of who we are than the perceived differences that tend to divide us.
When we focus on differences, when we see others as different, then we all suffer as a consequence. But when we shift our focus and see all that we share, all that we have in common, all that binds us as human beings, then that suffering begins to be alleviated. Music is a doorway into that common core of being human.

Simple formula: Play Music = Be Happy. :)
I enjoy the neutrality of this place too, funky. So much to fight about anymore, especially online... it's nice to just log in every morning and see what all you guys are up to. 8)

I don't enjoy the neutrality of this place, I LOVE it. It's why I have been an almost daily visitor for about 15 years. Every once in awhile, someone new arrives and pushes hard against the communal positivity, but without exception, they either switch on quickly and find peace here or they flare off to an angrier portion of the interwebs to tell everybody else what they need to know.
At the heart of this place is respect, love, peace and harmony. Pretty fitting considering Alembic's origins, their business model and the fine people who work there. Include in that the moderators who help maintain that vibe here on our little slice of internet heaven.

^^^ agreed.
I visit another website quite frequently (xjbikes.com) - Very effectively moderated to filter out political statements (even suggestions). Just like Alembic it is a supportive community gathered to help each other. :-D
These are difficult times and realizing that it is not for any 'governing body' to make the world what I want it to be - it is on me to behave and react to achieve the tone that I desire (much like a top end bass) brings some solace as the walls appear to be crumbling. We have 33 acres, my wife and I are doing our best everyday to hug it, nurture it and leave it in a better condition than what we found it.

Same here! I have a couple other sites I visit too...simply because they stay on topic and enjoyable discussions can be had.
Thanks forumites and Alembic!
