another .  . .  :-(
Even sadder to hear about the speculation to cause of death.

My wife was a huge fan - she is upset, gonna crank up some Soundgarden and work through it.

We just had a major Soundgarden listen in my house a couple of weeks ago as Erik recently discovered them in my music collection. I'm just shocked.

I only saw them in concert once, at one of the Day on the Green shows in Oakland. Metallica headlining plus Soundgarden, Faith No More, and Queensryche.

In college in the early '90s, when everyone else was listening to Nirvana & Pearl Jam, I liked Soundgarden. I was kind of bummed that Hiro Yamamoto left, but at the same time Badmotorfinger was a step up - maybe less avant-garde but more immediate. Definitely appreciated Chris Cornell as an amazing vocalist even if I didn't follow his career that closely. Really sad, such a tragedy for his family, I can't imagine. I hate all the speculation and reporting that goes along with this kind of thing.

Mica, was that in 1991? I never saw any of those but I have a friend who went to many. There's footage of the 1985 Metallica performance with Cliff Burton in the Cliff 'Em All video/DVD...
