I had an audition yesterday (Sunday) and picked up a gig with an Australian Country Rock outfit
called the Mason Boys.
Will be gigging shortly once I get the set-list down.
We are looking at playing the Tamworth Country Music Festival this coming Aussie summer and numerous
gigs leading up to that.
My 5 string Essence/Europa/Rogue sounded like bottled thunder!
Thanks Alembic for giving me "my sound"

Just got the notice that we will be playing the "Deni Ute Muster" in September
http://www.deniutemuster.com.au/ a celebration of all things Australian
We have centre stage on the Saturday afternoon.
Grand final day for Australian Football League before the first bounce so there may be a number of punters still at the stage.
Wish me luck as it should be one of the biggest crowds I've played to.

Break a leg! (Do they say that in Australia?). :D
-
Thanks man. Yes they do.
Only problem is the backline is provided and I'm not really a big
fan of a fridge and Ampeg rig. Any suggestions on how to dial it in
with my Essence with Europa/Rogue electronics?

Have fun, sounds like a great day!

Hey, Slawie. Have a great gig. Sounds like big fun!
Perhaps you can find out what the backline will be in advance, and track down a similar rig to mess around with..

Bob's your Uncle!
I would recommend either doing like Bill suggests or when you get there, set all of the settings on the amp flat. Your bass has all the tone adjustments you need.

Congratulations on the gig Slawie... sorry to be so late with the atta-boy, but somehow I missed the post on it. ;D

Thanks guys.
I have to get me one of those 37.8541litre hats. (10 gallon hat for you un-metricated folks)
Should fit my 10 gallon head ;)
I am looking around for a place that sells Ampeg in Oz so I can give it a try.
Of course its only for stage sound. FOH is all up to the sound guy. I will kiss up to them on the day.

I guess you could always take your own pre-amp, if you have one, and go direct into the power amp section of the Ampeg then you only have to hope the cabs are not trashed like what usually the case when I use them on festivals.
