Wow - very cool! I love Exploiters - I had a mid-'80s Spoiler Exploiter - my first Alembic - if it had looked like that maybe I would have kept it! Nah, I kept bumping into door jambs and it really needed to go to someone that would play it out...

Looking Good. 8)
My bass is in there getting it's final coats of finish now... who knows, maybe one day, someone will send it home for a refinish too. ;)

Great looking bass, I love the wood! Koa?

Exploiter007,
That is a beautiful bass, always loved that shape! You are going to be BLOWN AWAY when get your bass back! I sent my graphite neck Series Short scale in a while back for a refurb and refinish. In my case the bass had been sitting in the case for years, life getting in the way issues, and some of the finish had fallen off due to sitting in a hot closet for a long time..... Anyway it came back WOOOOOOW!!! AWESOME!!!! Man was I surprised how it looks and plays, WOW!! Prepare to be KNOCKED OUT!

Hey everyone! Thanks for the kind words on the Exploiter. Long story short, I bought her used late last December, so this is a "new / old" instrument for me. I had it about a week, decided it needed some work (ok, a lot of work), called up the folks at Alembic and dropped her off at the mothership on the 29th of December (which in and of itself was an experience). About the only thing that isn't being upgraded/refinished/buffed is the brass electronics plate! So, for all intents and purposes it will be pretty much back to about as new as can be when she's finished! And, yes, this is a flame koa top. It's also my first Alembic - and I've wanted an Exploiter since 1983! Good things happen to those who wait.

Congrats man. I still have yet to try an Exploiter, and a Distillate version would be ideal! Been wanting one since I saw the Kids are Alright around 1981.
