I am looking at this Spoiler for sale and would like to get some info on it before I pull the trigger. The owner tells me that the prior owner returned the bass to the mothership at some point to restore the electronics... also, it appears to have a decal for a logo on the headstock?
Thanks in advance!!

Twocan, the first 50 (or so) Spoilers from 1982 had a decal instead of the bronze logo. Also had a "Spoiler" script decal, (IIRC, rendered in Ms. W's handwriting) on the headstock. The decals weren't so popular, and we're replaced by the bronze logo. These early Spoilers also had solid koa body wings.
I remember a thread here about one fitting that description that went back for refurbishment, but it's been a while. If you dig a little with the 'search' feature, you may find it. Good luck! ;)

Thanks for the info!
I've attached some pics from the listing.

That's it. I remember the "Spoiler" script decal was missing. Mica can confirm, but I do remember that one got new innards... and I think a new hardshell case too maybe?
FWIW, I think those decal-ed Spoilers are cool. ;)

Yup. This shows sold on eBay in January 2005 with an Aguilar preamp. In 2015, the owner at that time sent it in for some TLC.
I sold him a used set of Spoiler electronics (they were totally rebuilt and have the RF upgrade). I rarely have adoptables around, so they got lucky. We also glued the pickups back together, made a new truss rod cover, filled a hole on the side with Mahogany and did a spot finish fix. There was a note to straighten the nut baseplate or replace, and an indicator it was done, but not which one. We also installed new strap pins and the bass got a new case.
Otherwise totally typical for a Spoiler of this age.
